Located on 42 acres of rural and wooded upstate New York land, tracts ranging in size from five to seven acres, are thoughtfully positioned to take advantage of the natural topography & landscape, and the privacy found within. Utilizing a series of interconnected buildings; the garage with the optional carriage house apartment, and the pairing of the pool & pool house, a dialog between nature and the home occurs. Each benefiting from the careful attention to the spatial and volumetric relationships between the outbuildings and the primary dwelling spaces.

These family retreats represent a modern twist upon the traditional farmhouses and barns of the region, applying blackened wood, standing seam metal roofs, black steel, and concrete, to the agrarian geometries.  Open and unencumbered structure, tongue and groove wooden ceilings, and polished concrete floors give the interiors a contemporary but alluring feel that connects to the natural context through expansive metal-clad wooden windows found throughout.  

Brilliantly interconnected flow between the interior and exterior, the spacious outdoor living areas surround the open living and family rooms, while private patios are provided to each of the bedrooms.  Perfect for entertaining, with the swimming pool, pool house, outdoor lounge, double-sided fireplace, and outdoor kitchen, the outside truly is an immediate extension of the inside, creating a harmony within this Hudson Valley setting.  

The design is not just inspired by the intensely natural setting, it grows out of it, and we hope you can see yourself in it.
